Is Your City Ready to Stand Up for Religious Freedom?

On January 20, the Obama administration made it clear that the new HHS mandate requiring employers to provide free contraceptives, sterilization and abortifacient drugs through their insurance plans would be imposed on religious institutions.

The HHS provided a “religious exemption” so narrow that it would exclude Catholic hospitals, universities and charities, forcing these institutions to act in direct opposition to Catholic teaching through the health care plans they provide.

Institutions run by all religious organizations would be similarly affected.

Religious leaders across the country have been speaking out against the HHS Mandate, including 171 Catholic bishops and many evangelical leaders like Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church. Numerous lawsuits have also been filed by Catholic institutions.

Now it’s time for direct, grassroots activism! It is time for the Body of Christ to Stand Up For Religious Freedom.

On Friday, March 23 @ 12 Noon, we are calling all concerned citizens to gather outside of Federal Courthouses in cities across the United States to rally in defense of religious freedom and stand up against the HHS Mandate.

CEC For Life has been asked by Eric Scheidler, who is spearheading this nationwide effort, to coordinate the event in Birmingham and to invite all other CEC For Life members to organize and attend this Rally in your own city! We need all concerned Christians to come together on this very important day!

There will be signs provided by the national group to ensure that all participating cities share the same unified message. We want to make sure that it is very evident to those who need to hear how serious this attack on religious liberty is being taken.

This will be a time of prayer, a time of encouragement by local leaders, and a time of prophetic witness to our government that a line has been crossed and we will not remain silent any longer.

Please make plans to join us — March 23 @ 12 Noon — in this nationwide stand for our religious freedoms!
