Riley’s Story

In 2015, less than a week before Christmas, Jonathan Granberry, husband of Jennifer Granberry and father to four boys, was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer.  At the same time, nearly on the same day, Jonathan’s son Riley was also diagnosed with cancer.  At 12 years old, doctors found a tumor the size of a tangerine on Riley’s brain.

riley email 4Since that Christmas, Jonathan has gone on to be with the Lord, and we miss him dearly.  He was a good friend to this ministry.

His son Riley continues the fight against cancer with his mother and three younger brothers — Ethan, Josh and Jack.  Together, we are still standing in prayer and unity for this faithful young man’s strength and healing.

But we want to do more than pray;  CEC For Life wants to help in any way we can, especially with the financial burdens brought on by nearly two years of cancer treatments.  Jennifer is doing an incredible job caring for her four boys, but she cannot do it alone.  And, as a member of the family of Christ, she is never meant to.

On June 10th, Fr. Terry will host his Annual Crawfish Boil.

WHEN: Saturday, June 10th, @ 1:30 PM

WHERE: 1472 Tomahawk Rd, Bham AL 35214

COST: Min Donation $15 per adult / Kids eats free!

However, instead of the proceeds going to the work of CEC For Life, every bit of the proceeds will go directly to the Granberry family — to Riley and his brothers, and their exceptional mother.  Please join us as we faithfully shoulder the burden of our dear friends.
