WASHINGTON, Jan. 15, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ — Just one day before the anniversary of Roe v. Wade, on which the House will decide whether or not to ban abortion after 20 weeks, a group of young activists led by Star Parker of Urban Cure, Fr. Terry Gensemer of CEC for Life, and Kristina Garza of Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust will gather in front of the White House to demonstrate unity with the preborn and an ardent devotion to the sanctity of life.
WHAT: Million to One Memorial Die-In
WHEN: Wednesday, January 21st at 11:00 AM
WHERE: The White House
On Wednesday, Jan 21st, at 11:00 AM, a group of nearly a hundred youth will lie on the cold winter ground, covering themselves in red cloth, while others hold signs reading, “They are lying down in a fetal position, identifying themselves with the preborn….”
Die-ins, first held by the Survivors, have become a very effective tool within the pro-life movement. The outreach presents a striking visual to spectators and stirs up overwhelming emotion for those who participate.
“Millions of our peers, family members, and fellow citizens have been exterminated by abortion,” says Kristina Garza, Campus Outreach Director for Survivors. “This demonstration honors the lives of those countless victims and reminds our president of the slaughter he condones. We will continue to pray and fight for an end to the violence of abortion.”
Fr. Terry Gensemer, Director of CEC For Life, comments, “I can only hope that President Obama takes note of these devoted young people bringing their generation’s request to protect life at every stage to his front yard. Out of everywhere in this city that they could have chosen to do this event, they chose a spot right outside his window.”
Star Parker of Urban Cure adds, “The youth of this nation have an intense desire to see justice and equality for all persons – including the preborn. But they know such a change must be supported by this nation’s highest leadership. Are you willing to listen to their call, Mr. President?”
The Million to One Memorial Die-In will begin at 11:00 AM in front of the White House. Each person lying on the sidewalk during this outreach represents one million babies aborted since 1973. All are invited to participate.
